ABOUT US |
by Kristyn Juza The Third Annual Midwest Cyclemania Motorcycle Show took place in Green Bay, Wisconsin on April 21st, 2007. History once again repeated itself as spectators were able to see some of the most amazing motorcycles around. Over 200 motorcycles were on display with more than 100 in competition for over $4000 in prize money and awards with all judging done by Ray’s M/C Show World. This year, the theme of the show was “Women Who Ride.” A special area was set aside for motorcycles owned and ridden by women, and a very special motorcycle build took place right at the show. In less than seven hours, four female bike builders put together AND STARTED a one-off motorcycle! The four builders included Laura Ellifson of Klock Werks Kustom Cycles in Mitchel South Dakota, Sara Liberte of RT’s North Hills Cycle, Inc. in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Jody Perewitz of Perewitz Cycle Fabrication and Tami Walker of Diva Customs.
Two female racers were also at the show: Kersten Heling youngest licensed nitro burning Harley-Davidson drag racer at age 16 from Doc’s Harley Davidson of Shawano County and Andrea Walsdorf a 16-year-old AMA Super Moto competitor that actually qualified to compete in the Honda Challenge, and was the youngest woman to qualify for an AMA Supermoto event. Also on hand were representatives of the local “Motor-Maids. Jean Davidson, grand-daughter of the founder of Harley-Davidson was on hand to sign her books and speak to the crowd on what it was like growing up a Davidson. Along with the female aspect of the show, Ken and Bonnie made this year a very family oriented show. Section 8 stunt riders performed throughout the day and thrilled the audience with their amazing stunts and maneuvers aboard their motorcycles. Vandervest Harley Davidson sponsored a children’s play area that included a variety of air filled fun! Bowling, balloons, a Velcro wall, and kids could even test their skills at changing real tires on a blow up car. American Gypsy showed off her musical talents for the crowd, and a moped was given away every 90 minutes!! It was definitely a fun filled day for the whole family!!
“Whether you arrived by motorcycle or car thanks for making the Third Annual Midwest Cyclemania Motorcycle Show your destination. We hope to see you next year!!”
